the premature death of summer...

Ok, maybe I'm being a bit melodramatic; but indeed my summer is coming to a close at the end of the week. It's a bit sad, but it is also the beginning of a new life for myself. I'm sad that my summer, so far has not been as relaxing and as wonderful as I had hoped. My hubby have had a lot of great times together, but we haven't had a lot of just plain ol' downtime.

Luckily, I've had a lot of things to obsess about during my summer months; these things fill the void of my absent hubby/bffl (sorta). I thought it might be fun to share just a few things that have rocked my summer with you. In no particular order, here goes:

1. Twilight Zone: Yeah, you read right. While everyone is obsessing over "Twilight", I'm indulging in reruns of "Twilight Zone". Although, I wasn't born until the show was in re-runs; I enjoyed it greatly and watched it with my Grandma every night when I was little. To this day, I find the show one of the most original, thought provoking, creepy little teleplays to ever run. The Alfred Hitchcock Show could have easily fit into this list as well. Twilight Zone is still being re-run on SyFy (Sci-Fi?) channel. *Why did the name change again? I missed that.*

2. Red Dead Redemption: So, Rockstar, yeah! I already know I like every game they put out, but oh snap..NEVER did I imagine I would become so addicted to Red Dead Redemption. If it's not bad enough that I spend hours playing this game, I can't look at horses or birds flying in the sky without be reminded of my game. I've also grown even more of an appetite for all films western. It's also reminded me that I'm still pissed about Deadwood being abruptly cancelled.

3. Mad Men: The 4th Season is back, and nearly a month earlier than last year's season 3 premiere. I'm elated. I couldn't wait to see what the new Sterling Draper Cooper Pryce offices would look like. Also, what 1964/1965 would bring to the stories. Last Sunday's Christmas episode was awesome! Freddy is back (sorry, but I missed him). I always liked him for noticing Peggy's potential. How will this season end? I'm dying to know what else is in store. I'm also really creeped out by the Bishop boy! YIKES, Glenn stay away from my Sally!

4. & 5. M.A.C: I loved both the "To the Beach" and "In the Groove" collections. Both had so many fun and gorgeous items. I'm sad that the "In the Groove" packaging wasn't as cute as "To the Beach". However, Stereo Rose, huh...I'm just saying! Petticoat and Stereo Rose are my new best MSF friends. "To the Beach", had that super awesome Marine Life hi-light powder. Woo! Thank goodness my super awesome friend's and family hooked me up with mega big M.A.C gift cards for my birthday. Rather than just drooling over my cult faves, I ran in and bought them up!

6. Crystal Castles/Celestica: Love this album and had this song on repeat for most of the summer!

7. Sharlto Copley: So cute, so adorable, so one of the reasons I've seen District 9 too many times!

8. Sweet Leaf Tea: Huge containers of this stuff for like $1.50 each fill my fridge and pantry. My favorite of all of the flavors is Mint and Honey! So minty and refreshing, tastes a bit like all the good times I've had in Austin..wink! Yummy and organic!
